You may feel bloated and gross after a big holiday dinner and sweets from Easter, but you can get back on track. Here’s how:
- Eat Regular Meals. Starving yourself to try and make up for the holiday overload is a recipe for disaster. You will just eat more later.
- Enjoy fresh Pineapple. This delicious natural fruit is a great remedy for swelling after one too many drinks.
- Avoid greasy, fried, canned and processed foods. Extra sodium will only make you retain water.
- Indulge in celery, asparagus, artichokes, and watercress. These veggies help balance your electrolytes and are natural diuretics, so they flush out excess fluids.
- Eat Steamed and Grilled. For lunch and dinner choose steamed veggies like carrots, zucchini and asparagus, along with grilled seafood or chicken.
And when it comes to exercise:
- Do some Cardio or a vigorous workout. You want to generate feel good endorphins to flush out toxins and give you more energy.
- Stay flexible and take it easy. If your body says no to this kind of work out. Do some yoga or gentle pilates, take a walk or do your favorite activity.
- Get outside for some fresh air. There is nothing like the vitamin D from the sun to stimulate the brain and get you feeling like yourself again.
